Bahamas
You may think being called to ministry in the Bahamas is an easy deal. And some of the preconceptions are true. The Bahamas has a wonderful, sunny climate. With humidity very high, it can be a bit overpowering in the summer months. There are some beautiful beaches in the Bahamas, and the standard of living improves every year.
As everywhere, though, people need the message of the love of Jesus, and our work there is certainly no holiday! The Bahamas is a very Christianised society, but is now beginning to face the challenges which the church in the UK faced perhaps 30-40 years ago; such as the need for fresh vision, effective delegation of the work and young people who feel out of touch with the church. The need for Bible teaching, discipling and leadership consultancy is great.
We are involved in these areas with churches in the Abaco islands, including churches in Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay, Man-O-War Cay and Great Guana Cay.
UK
Our home church is Llandaff North Christian Centre in Cardiff, Wales. Wales is one of the four constituent countries of the United Kingdom. Peter is an elder in the church and is involved in preaching in a number of churches through South Wales, South West of England and the wider UK. Our calendar will give you more details. We have just completed another leadership course aimed at 18-30 year olds. It is a residential course which takes place on six weekends over a two year cycle.
